Liberia 2025 West African Summit for Knights and Ladies of St. John International
The 9th West African Summit of the Knights and Ladies of St. John International was held in Monrovia, Liberia, gathering representatives from across the subregion for a remarkable celebration of faith, unity, and service. The summit brought together delegations from Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Liberia, reaffirming the Order’s commitment to defending the Catholic faith and serving humanity without borders.
The day began with a solemn Holy Mass at St. Joseph Parish, Capitol Hill, Monrovia. The liturgy was presided over by Very Rev. Fr. (Brigadier General) Dennis C. Nimene, Spiritual Director of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery of Liberia. In his stirring homily, he urged the Knights and Ladies to be “missionaries of faith,” active participants in the Church’s mission, and ambassadors of unity across West Africa.
The theme of the summit, “Bridging Differences, Empowering Together,” echoed throughout the proceedings as participants reflected on the Order’s role in strengthening the bonds of fraternity, service, and leadership within the Church and society.
Among the distinguished attendees were Brother David Uwaifo and Brother Dr. Izu Obani (PhD, KSJI), who represented with dignity and commitment. Their presence underscored Nigeria’s active contribution to the growth of the Order in West Africa, as well as the spirit of international brotherhood that the Knights and Ladies of St. John embody.
The event also featured moments of fellowship, cultural exchange, and strategic discussions on the Order’s mission in health, education, empowerment, and evangelization across the region. Delegates shared experiences, strengthened networks, and renewed their dedication to living out the motto of the Order—“For God, For Church, For Country.”
As the summit concluded, there was a renewed call to action: that the Knights and Ladies of St. John International remain united in service, steadfast in faith, and ever ready to create hope in the world through their deeds.
The Liberia 2025 Summit will be remembered as a milestone in the journey of the Order in West Africa—an inspiring day of faith, fellowship, and fraternity.
